Non European Students

Mesoyios welcomes international applications to our programs.

Interested applicants who are citizens of Non-European Union countries require a visa in order to study in Cyprus. That is why, Mesoyios College will forward the applications of international students first to the Ministry of Education and Culture for academic evaluation and then to the Migration Authorities for approval and the visa interview.

International applicants from countries where there is Embassy or Consulate of Cyprus will be obliged to attend an interview regarding their visa before coming to Cyprus. Please note that the visa of an international applicant can be issued in Cyprus only if there is no Cyprus Representation in the applicant’s native country.

The following documents should be submitted from all international applicants to the Office of Admissions via the online application process, the e-mail application process or via the regular mail correspondence.
1. Application Form

  • A completed and signed application form by the new student.
  • Receipt of tuition and fees payment, including the non-refundable application fee of 150 Euro and immigration registration fee collectively.

2. Passport Copy

  • The new student must submit a passport copy with at least two (2) years validity and attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs (e.g. For Ukrainian Notary Public)

3. Academic Records

  • A certified English translation of their secondary and higher secondary High School Leaving certificate or equivalent qualifications attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

4. Police Clearance

  • A copy of a character certificate by the Police and attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirming that the applicant has no criminal record. The validity of the police clearance certificate should not exceed the six (6) months and must be English translated.

5. Bank letter of Financial Support

  • A copy of a translated and attested, by Notary Public + Embassy or Cyprus Consulate, bank letter confirming that the student or the student’s guardian’s, sponsor’s or parents have the ability to finance the applicant’s studies. It is of great importance that in the bank letter, the applicant’s name and his/her relationship with the sponsor is clearly stated, while the validity of the certificate should not exceed the six (6) months.

6. Medical Certificates

  • A copy of a blood test and a chest X-ray report, attested by the Ministry of Health +Embassy or Cyprus Consulate confirming that the applicant is not infected with:
    • HIV 1 + 2 = AIDS
    • Hepatitis B + C
    • VDRL = Syphilis
    • Tuberculosis

The validity of the medical certificates should not exceed the four (4) months and must be English translated.

7. Photographs

  • Six recent passport-sized photographs.
  • Countries that signed The Hague Convention can attest and submit all of the above documents with Apostille verification only.
  • Documents from China can be attested by the Ministry of Justice.
  • Medical Certificates from Pakistan can be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs only if the applicant’s medical examination took place in a Public Hospital.
  • During the visa interview all applicants must present the originals of all the above documents; again all documents should be English translated and attested.

Please note that incomplete applications will not be processed by the Office of Admissions and will not be sending to the Ministry of Education and Culture or the Migration Authorities.

International Students’ Visa Requirements

Upon receipt of an international student’s application that includes the above documents, the Office of Admissions will consider the application and if successful, a certificate of Admission will be issued and mailed to the candidate.

First, the College will send the applicant’s file to the Ministry of Education and Culture in order to check the authenticity of the applicant’s documents. If the Ministry of Education and Culture approves the applicant then the Ministry will send the student’s application to the Migration Authorities for a Visa-Interview.

Please note that only during the visa interview it will be finally decided whether\ or not a potential applicant will be granted visa approval.

Following the visa approval of the applicant by the Migration Authorities the student must pay 3200 Euro, amount required by the Migration Authorities, if the visa is to be issued by Migration Authorities in Cyprus. The two receipts, one from the bank of the student’s country where the tuition and fees were deposited and the other one from the college confirming that the money has been duly received, must be then shown to the officials of Larnaca’s or Pafos’ airport upon the student’s arrival. In case that a student’s visa is denied by the Cypriot Authorities, the tuition fees will be refunded to the student.

Visa Interview Procedures

Students who come from countries where a visa interview is required will be notified about the date of the interview by the Admissions office. At the interview the applicants are required to present:

    1.  Passport with validity of more than two years.
    2.  Originals of their academic records, which are translated into English and attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
    3.  Original police certificate translated and attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirming that the applicant has no criminal record. The validity of the police clearance certificate should not exceed the six (6) months and must be English translated.
    4.  Original bank letter, attested, by Notary Public, confirming that the student or the student’s guardian’s, sponsors or parents have the ability to finance the applicant’s studies. It is of great importance that in the bank letter, the applicant’s name and his/her relationship with the sponsor, it is clearly stated, while the validity of the certificate should not exceed the six (6) months and must be English translated.
    5. A copy of blood test and a chest X-ray report, attested by the Ministry of Health confirming that the applicant is not infected with:
      • HIV 1 + 2 = AIDS
      • Hepatitis B + C
      • VDRL = Syphilis
      • Tuberculosis

The validity of the medical certificates should not exceed the three (4) months and must be English translated.

  1. A passport size photograph.

As mentioned previously:

  • Countries that signed The Hague Convention can attest and submit all of the above documents with Apostil verification only.
  • Documents from China can be attested by the Ministry of Justice.
  • Medical Certificates from Pakistan can be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs only if the applicant’s medical examination took place in a Public Hospital.
  • During the visa interview all applicants must present the originals of all the above documents; again all documents should be English translated and attested.

In the case of applicants who come from countries where a visa interview is not required the office of Admissions will notify them when their entry visa has been approved by the Cyprus Authorities and will send them immediately a copy of the visa. Please note that

NO STUDENT SHOULD TRAVEL TO CYPRUS WITHOUT A COPY OF HIS/HER ENTRY VISA!

It is suggested to all applicants to contact the Office of Admissions in order:

  • To confirm that they are indeed required to attend a visa interview.
  • To confirm if there are any additional documents that might need to present at the interview.

 

Upon Arrival to Cyprus


Accepted students must notify the Admissions Office as soon as they make their travel arrangements. At the airport they will be obliged to show to the Officials of the Immigration Authorities the following documents.

  • Copies or originals of the tuition and fees receipts.
  • Cash and/or travellers cheques of 2000 Euro minimum
  • All documents that were presented and certified by the visa officer at the time of the visa interview.
  • Certificate of Admission.

Please note that if a student fails to show these documents he/she will not be permitted to enter Cyprus.

Upon arrival in Cyprus all students are obliged to pay for medical examinations, mandatory insurance and a Visa Guarantee that will be refunded when the student leaves the country. At the airport all students will be given, initially, a temporary entry visa. Following the student’s registration at Mesoyios this temporary entry visa will be converted into a student visa for maximum one year. This student visa will be renewed every year for the duration of studies.
